Lockport Man Arrested for Grand Larceny for Stealing From Employer

On 12/04/12 at 3:20pm Seneca Falls Police arrested Jacob N. Schmelzle, age 30, of 125 Lock Street, Lockport, NY 14304 for Grand Larceny in the 4th degree. Seneca Falls Police received a complaint from a local company reporting a large amount of wire be stolen by an employee. Seneca Falls Police obtained security footage of Jacob N. Schmelzle exiting one of the buildings several times carring wire and boxes. Schmelzle would carry the wire and boxes to his vehicle which was parked within walking distance of the building. Schmelzle would place the items in his vehicles trunk, front seat and backseat and then cover the items with a blanket. The estimated value of the property taken is around $12,000.00. Schmelzle was arraigned in the Town of Fayette Court in front of Judge Sapio.Schmelzle was committed to the SCCF on $10,000 bail or $20,000 bound. The Seneca Falls Police Department is still investigating the incident and more charges are pending.
