On July 29, 2012 at approximately 3:27AM, the Seneca Falls Police responded to a call of a vehicle in the ditch on Ovid Street. While on Scene officers spoke with both occupants of the vehicle, Maurice Maxon, age 27, of 237 Castle Street, Geneva, NY and Jamie Luffman, age 27, of 45 Rumsey Street, Seneca Falls, NY.
While on scene both subjects stated that each other were driving the vehicle at the time of the accident and both stated that they were just trying to drive the vehicle out of the ditch. Officers then administered field sobriety tests to Maxon who then failed all tests. Maxon then stated to officers that he was on Parole. Maxon then led officers on a short foot chase where Maxon then started to fight with officers. Maxon was then sprayed with OC Spray and then subdued and placed into custody. Officers then administered field sobriety tests to Luffman, which Luffman also failed two out of the three tests. Luffman was then placed into custody as well.
While transporting both back to the police department, officers then learned through the Seneca County 911 Center that Maxon gave officers a false date of birth. Once back at the office Luffman agreed to the chemical test and gave a BAC Reading of 0.13%. Luffman was then charged with DWI and Operating a vehicle with a BAC greater than 0.08%. Luffman was then released on UTT’s and has to appear at the Town of Seneca Falls Court on August 2, 2012 at 10:00AM. Maxon refused the chemical test back at the office and was charged with, DWI, AUO 2nd, False Personation, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration. Maxon was then arraigned in front of acting Justice Mattoon at the Town of Seneca Falls Court where he was then committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail $10,000.00 ins bond. New York State Parole was also contacted and a Violation of Parole warrant was also issued on Maxon. Maxon is due back at the Town of Seneca FallsCourt on August 22, 2012 at 10:00AM.
