Man Charged with Felony of Making Terroristic Threat Against Local Town Justices

On October 15th, 2014 at approximately 1:53pm the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department arrested Charles J.M. Buchanan, age 33, of 161 West Bayard Street, Apt. 1, Seneca Falls, New York. Seneca Falls Police investigated a complaint of a threat against the Town of Seneca Falls Justices on October 6th, 2014. It is alleged that Buchanan entered the Town of Seneca Falls Office building and made a statement in front of a town employee about causing serious injury or death to a Town Justice. Buchanan was arrested at his residence on a Felony Warrant for Penal Law Section 490.20 “Making A Terroristic Threat”.

Buchanan was transported back to the Seneca Falls Police Department where he was processed. Buchanan was then transported to the Town of Junius for arraignment. Buchanan was arraigned in front of the Honor Judge Laird and committed to the SCCF on $5000 bail $10,000 insurance bond. Buchanan is to due back in the Town of Junius Court on Monday October 20th, 2014 at 3:00pm. Judge Laird also issued Order of Protections for several town employees and family members.
